Twitching Antenna

Twitching Antennae are severed sensory appendages gathered from the invasive silithid swarming the southern Barrens. Sought by the tauren warrior Ruga Ragetotem at Camp Taurajo, they serve as proof of a young warrior's swiftness and combat prowess before their lingering nerve twitches fade.

Proof of the Hunt

Carved directly from the heads of silithid grubs, swarmers, and harvesters, these antennae retain residual nervous reflex even after detachment. Their violent spasming does not last long once severed from the insectoid host. Because of this brief window of vitality, bringing back still-twitching antennae serves as a strict test of speed, requiring an aspirant to hunt the beasts in the southern wastes and dash back across the scrublands before the twitching goes still.

The Threat in the South

Beyond serving as a rite of passage, these antennae are troubling harbingers. Silithid are not native to the Barrens, and their recent burrowing mounds at the Field of Giants deeply unsettle the hunters of Camp Taurajo. Ruga Ragetotem demands these specimens to study the new threat while simultaneously steeling Horde warriors against an encroaching, alien menace.
