Stoutmantle's Response to Solomon

Stoutmantle's Response to Solomon is a written dispatch carried from Sentinel Hill to Lakeshire. In it, Gryan Stoutmantle grimly informs Magistrate Solomon that the embattled People's Militia cannot spare a single soldier to defend Redridge Mountains.

A Plea Denied

Facing relentless pressure from Blackrock orcs and gnolls, Magistrate Solomon of Lakeshire reached out to Sentinel Hill hoping Westfall's local forces could send reinforcements. Gryan Stoutmantle's written reply brings bitter news. Mourning Lakeshire's losses, Stoutmantle explains that Westfall is plagued with its own war. The People's Militia was formed out of desperation precisely because the Crown withdrew its garrison, leaving farmers and volunteers to battle the Defias Brotherhood alone. Stoutmantle explains that his own forces are bleeding and stretched thin, unable to sacrifice men to bail out another abandoned frontier.
