Searing Coral
Searing Coral is a rare, resilient mineral substance harvested from living iron corals off the coast of the Wetlands. Prized by tinkerers and smiths, it possesses remarkable thermal properties that allow it to be smelted and forged into protective armor.
A Rare coastal Resource
Searing Coral grows exclusively in the chilly ocean waters along the coast south of Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands. Despite thriving in cold saltwater, this unique marine organism yields a mineral-rich material capable of enduring extreme heat. Harvesters brave the Wetlands' treacherous surf and coastal predators to pry the hardened formations loose.
Application in Smithing
While traditionally outside standard dwarven metallurgy, Searing Coral caught the attention of inquisitive minds in Ironforge. Gnome craftsmen such as Klockmort Spannerspan adapt the techniques of veteran armorsmith Furen Longbeard, smelting and hammering the coral directly into metal alloys to produce lightweight, exceptionally durable armor for aspiring warriors.
