Giant sea creatures have begun beaching themselves all along Darkshore's mist-shrouded shores, while others lie submerged just off the coast near sunken wrecks. Gwennyth Bly'Leggonde, stationed in Auberdine, oversees the collection of skeletal fragments and tissue from these corpses. The Temple of the Moon in Darnassus urgently requests these samples, concerned by theories that the beasts may be fleeing an unnatural disturbance in the waters surrounding the newly grown world tree, Teldrassil.

Recovering these remains is perilous work. Coastal tribes of murlocs routinely congregate around the massive carcasses, picking the bones clean and nesting beside them. Scholars require fresh bone fragments and tissue before the scavengers destroy any surviving evidence that might explain the creatures' fatal migration.
