Samophlange (item)
The samophlange is an enigmatic mechanical component recovered from the deep interior of an automated control console in the Barrens. Despite its complex appearance, its precise function remains an engineering mystery even to the goblin mechanics who sought it.
A Baffling Contraption
Tucked away behind a labyrinth of superfluous wiring and hollow tubing within a Barrens control console lies the samophlange. It takes some rooting through deliberately confounding machinery just to unseat it from its housing. To the untrained eye, it appears to be an essential nexus of clockwork and steam-driven technology. To goblin tinkerers, it is an irresistible mechanical puzzle intended for shipment to the Tinkers' Union in Undermine—though its fragile build means it rarely survives casual handling long enough to be understood.
