Plainstrider Meat
Plainstrider Meat is freshly harvested game taken from the flightless birds that wander the plains of Mulgore. For the young tauren coming of age on Red Cloud Mesa, gathering this sustenance serves as both vital winter provisions and a core rite of passage.
Sustenance for the Mesa
Tauren life is inextricably bound to the land, balancing respect for nature with the practical necessity of survival. On Red Cloud Mesa, the settlement of Camp Narache depends heavily on game hunted from the surrounding grasslands. Plainstrider meat provides essential food reserves for the village when stocks run lean, while the birds' plumage offers material for clothing and ceremonial adornments.
A Young Hunter's Trial
Hunting plainstriders is one of the initial tests given to youth seeking to earn the tribe's respect. Grull Hawkwind directs hopeful hunters to stalk the swift birds across the mesa, gathering meat and feathers to prove their tracking skills and self-reliance before appearing before his father, Chief Hawkwind.
