When Gelkak Gyromast's ship was dragged beneath the waves by wild threshadons, the gnome pirate tumbled ashore with his most precious belongings shattered on the rocky shoals. Among the wreckage was a specialized winding key meant for his mechanical first mate. The key snapped into three distinct fragments during the catastrophe, scattering across the strand. While the tops and bottoms ended up carried off by coastal beasts, the middle section caught the eye of the Greymist murlocs prowling the Darkshore surf, who quickly hoarded the shiny metallic piece in their camps and wreckage holdings.
