Fire Tar
Fire Tar is a volatile substance gathered by Razormane quilboar spellcasters across the eastern Barrens. To Horde shamans, it serves as a crucial ritual component used to brew the Fire Sapta, which grants spiritual communion with the element of fire.
A Concoction of the Razormane
Carried almost exclusively by spellcasting Razormane quilboar—including their geomancers, mystics, and thornweavers—fire tar is an alchemical substance tuned closely to flame. While the bristled tribes of the Barrens use it for their own harsh magic and rituals, shamanic instructors recognize it as an essential worldly reagent capable of bridging the gap between mortal senses and raw elemental fury.
The Path to the Fire Totem
When young orc and troll shamans are sent to Telf Joolam perched high in Durotar's crags, they are charged with forging their fire totem. Telf requires two key elements tied to heat and flame to brew a fire sapta: a reagent pouch stolen from Burning Blade cultists, and fire tar harvested from the Razormane. Drinking the resulting brew allows the shaman to pierce the veil and perceive the elemental spirits of flame awaiting them atop the nearby peaks.
