Curative Animal Salve

Crafted from locally gathered herbal reagents, Curative Animal Salve is prepared in ten-dose batches to treat wildlife caught in the throes of spreading corruption. In the misty forests of Darkshore, Alanndarian Nightsong directs young druids to apply the ointment to sickly deer wandering between the Cliffspring River and the borders of Ashenvale. Far to the south in the arid expanse of the Barrens, Tonga Runetotem brews an identical remedy to treat sickly gazelles grazing north of the Crossroads. While both herbalists work with local authorities to produce larger supplies, field practitioners administer the salve directly to beasts suffering from environmental malaise.

Applying the salve directly eases an animal's suffering, yet the Cenarion Circle views these afflictions as mere symptoms of a much greater disturbance. In Moonglade, Dendrite Starblaze observes that neither the afflicted deer of the coast nor the suffering gazelles of the savannah are random casualties. Instead, they are unwitting victims of a spreading blight that touches Kalimdor from multiple directions. Administering the salve serves as a fundamental rite for initiates, testing their dedication to safeguarding the natural world and mastering the arts of cleansing poison.
