Bristleback Belt
A Bristleback Belt is a piece of crudely crafted gear worn by the quilboar infesting Brambleblade Ravine. For young tauren coming of age in Camp Narache, collecting these belts serves as physical proof of valor during the Rite of Strength.
Proof of the Rite
The Red Cloud tribe tests every youth who aspires to earn respect in Thunder Bluff through the ancient Rites of the Earthmother. The first trial, the Rite of Strength, requires the initiate to protect the tribe from active threats. Because the hostile Bristleback quilboar repeatedly raid tribal food supplies and ambush hunting parties outside Camp Narache, Chief Hawkwind demands the belts of these intruders. Returning twelve belts to the chieftain proves that an initiate can confront danger directly and strike a blow for the tribe's defense.
Quilboar Craft
Stripped from Bristleback quilboar warriors and shamans throughout Brambleblade Ravine, these belts are fashioned from rough hide, twine, and scrap. While worthless as apparel to a tauren warrior, they are distinctly quilboar make and serve as unmistakable evidence of a slain enemy. Bringing them back to the camp circle fulfills the proof required by the rite.
