Ancient Statuette

The waters off northwestern Ashenvale conceal the sunken remains of Zoram, a pre-Sundering night elven city lost beneath the waves ten thousand years ago. In recent days, the explorer Talen surveyed the submerged ruins from a small craft, seeking lost historical relics. When a vicious assault by naga drove him ashore, Talen abandoned most of his belongings in his flight, dropping the ancient statuette he had dredged up onto the tideline sand near his scuttled skiff.

Talen considers the statuette his most prized possession and the entire justification for braving the monster-infested coast. Rather than merely being a piece of decorative stonework, he believes the effigy serves as an essential key to deciphering the architecture, history, and arcane secrets locked away beneath the surf of Zoram Strand.
