Riverpaw pack
The Riverpaw pack is a savage clan of gnolls inhabiting the borderlands of Elwynn Forest and Westfall. Known for their brutal raids and ruthless dominance over local kobolds, they have grown increasingly organized and brazen following the Third War. With Stormwind's military stretched thin, their presence threatens vital roads and settlements throughout the heartland.
A Plague on the Heartland
For decades, the Riverpaw clan prowled the fringes of human civilization, but their boldness has surged in recent years. In Elwynn Forest, packs led by the infamous brute Hogger prowl the southern woods around Forest's Edge and roam the shores of Stone Cairn Lake. In Westfall, they roam across the Dust Plains and along the coasts, ambushing solitary travelers and raiding homesteads. Deputy Rainer at Westbrook Garrison and Captain Danuvin at Sentinel Hill rely heavily on mercenary blades to cull their numbers, issuing standing bounties for painted armbands and severed paws.
Merciless Taskmasters
Beyond petty ambushes, the Riverpaws exhibit an unusual drive for conquest and labor. They drove a clan of kobolds out of the Redridge Mountains and forced them into the gold mines of Elwynn Forest and Westfall, working the small creatures into relentless exhaustion to extract ore. This cruel tyranny over the mines suggests the gnolls are no longer simple scavengers living hand-to-mouth, but a faction amassing wealth and consolidating strategic ground right under the crown's nose.
