Grimtotem tribe
The Grimtotem tribe is an aggressive, fiercely traditionalist tauren clan that refuses to formally swear allegiance to Thrall's Horde. Distinguishable by their dark hides and fierce warpaint, they seek to purge foreign races from Kalimdor and retake ancestral lands by any means necessary. Even as their matriarch, the Elder Crone Magatha Grimtotem, resides atop Thunder Bluff playing regional politics, her kin actively raid settlements across Kalimdor.
A Tribe Apart
Unlike their peaceful cousins who honor the Earth Mother through reverence, the Grimtotem believe Kalimdor belongs exclusively to the tauren. From youth, they are trained not in the patient harmony of the Great Hunt, but in ruthlessness, stealth, and lethal combat. They harbor immense disdain for the other races that have settled upon their ancient soils. Though Cairne Bloodhoof has welcomed them into Thunder Bluff in an effort to unite all tauren people, the Grimtotem clan stands alone as the only major tribe that has never formally joined Thrall's Horde, maintaining their own insular and violent agenda.
Wildland Aggressors
In the wilderness far from Thunder Bluff's watchful eyes, Grimtotem hostility flares openly into violence. In Stonetalon Mountains, they butcher local settlements and threaten Horde supply outposts. Across the towering mesas of Thousand Needles, centered around Darkcloud Pinnacle, they constantly menace Freewind Post and plot to seize the canyon. Encounters in Feralas prove equally perilous: the Grimtotem attack Horde travelers, Alliance caravans, and fellow tauren without hesitation. Horde garrisons at Sun Rock Retreat and Camp Mojache regularly post bounties and dispatch warriors to cut down these violent outcasts.
