Frostmane tribe

Long before the Bronzebeard clan united under Ironforge, the Frostmane trolls held dominion across the snowbound expanses of Dun Morogh. The rise and expansion of the dwarven kingdom crushed their realm, pushing the surviving ice trolls into retreat along the frozen ridges and crags. This humiliating defeat sparked a bitter generational hatred that endures to this day. The Frostmane treat every mountaineer, traveler, and homestead as an invading enemy to be driven out or slaughtered.

For decades, the Ironforge Senate regarded the Frostmane as little more than a persistent nuisance lurking in the hills. However, the sudden emergence of the trogg menace deep beneath Dun Morogh has thrown dwarven defense into disarray. Sensing an opportune moment while the mountaineers are overwhelmed and dwarven forces fight Alliance wars abroad, the Frostmane have launched renewed and violent raids from strongholds such as Frostmane Hold and Shimmer Ridge to retake their ancient territories.
