Windbreak Canyon
Windbreak Canyon is a winding gorge along the northern side of Thousand Needles, situated between Freewind Post and the Shimmering Flats. Famous for its harsh drafts and jagged stone, it is heavily infested with nesting wind serpents. Travelers passing along the main road must tread carefully near its mouth to avoid being hunted from above.
A Serpent Nest in the Needles
Carved into the sheer northern walls of the canyon floor, Windbreak Canyon spans a large stretch of territory east of Freewind Post. Rather than offering shelter, the ravine channels whistling winds between the rock spires, creating ideal perches for feral wind serpents. The predators lay their clutches along the stone ledges and strike at unwary travelers drifting off the main road. Those braving the canyon interior will also find the winding trails that climb upward toward the Weathered Nook.
