Slag Pit

Carved into the depths of the Cauldron, the Slag Pit represents the grinding industrial engine of the Dark Iron dwarves in Searing Gorge. Day and night, enslaved workers are driven to extract rich ores and minerals under the lash of brutal overseers and taskmasters. The environment is harsh and suffocating, dominated by scorching heat, choking dust, and the clatter of iron picks. The Dark Irons maintain ruthless discipline over their excavation, violently repelling any outside interference with their supply lines to Blackrock Depths.

Beyond the cruelty of the slavers, the physical tunnels themselves pose a deadly hazard to workers and intruders alike. In the lower reaches of the excavation, the earth breaks open into scorching caverns inhabited by incendosaurs—ferocious reptilian beasts native to the fiery underground. Despite the constant danger of being devoured by these subterranean predators, the Dark Iron masters continue to push their labor force deeper into the rock, entirely indifferent to the lives lost in the process.
