Frostfire Hot Springs
Frostfire Hot Springs are a curious series of steaming pools nestled amidst the western snowdrifts of Winterspring. Despite the bitter sub-zero temperatures all around them, these waters bubble constantly, attracting curious scholars, hardy fishers, and hostile furbolgs alike.
Steaming Waters in the Snow
Situated near the tunnel leading to Timbermaw Hold, Frostfire Hot Springs represent one of the strangest natural anomalies in northern Kalimdor. The pools remain hot amid the surrounding snow, although the source of their heat is uncertain. The local Winterfall furbolgs maintain a presence near the water, though their aggressive territorial nature makes approaching the warm banks hazardous for unwary travelers. For those able to navigate the hostile wildlife and winter chill, the unfrozen waters provide a rare haven for fish.
A Geothermal Mystery
The uncanny existence of such intense heat in an otherwise frozen wasteland has drawn the attention of curious observers. Nearby, an inquisitive dwarf named Donova Snowden keeps a lonely vigil over the springs, studying their origin and composition. Snowden suspects that these geothermal anomalies might not be entirely natural, hypothesizing that dark magical corruption seeping northward from the demonic stronghold of Darkwhisper Gorge could be responsible for roiling the subterranean waters.
