Darkspear Isle

Darkspear Isle is the largest landmass among the Echo Isles off the southeastern coast of Durotar. Originally settled by the Darkspear trolls following their exodus from the South Seas, it currently languishes under the dark hexes of the traitorous witch doctor Zalazane.

When Sen'jin fell in the Darkspear Islands and Thrall offered the survivors refuge in Kalimdor, the Darkspear tribe sought a home of their own along the coast of Durotar. They settled the Echo Isles, establishing their primary villages across the archipelago with the largest island as their heart. That refuge was shattered when one of their own prominent witch doctors, Zalazane, went mad with power. Using twisted voodoo, Zalazane enslaved the minds of his fellow tribesfolk, forcing Chieftain Vol'jin and the free Darkspear to flee to the mainland at Sen'jin Village. Today, the island crawls with Zalazane's thralls, savage beasts, and dark rituals.
