Standing inside the Thunderbrew Distillery at Kharanos, Ragnar Thunderbrew manages the establishment's culinary reputation alongside his family's brewing operations. The distillery is a central gathering place for local mountaineers, traveling adventurers, and gnome refugees fleeing Gnomeregan. Chief among his duties is preparing the family's renowned Beer Basted Boar Ribs, a hearty Dun Morogh specialty cooked with stout dwarven ale. However, maintaining steady supplies has become difficult; his usual meat provider enlisted in the King's Army, leaving Ragnar dependent on wandering mountaineers and hunters to keep fresh crag boar flanks coming into the kitchen.

The Thunderbrew name is synonymous with dwarven alcohol and pub culture throughout Ironforge territory. Ragnar has kept the family distillery running since his older brother, Grimbooze Thunderbrew, disappeared in a drunken haze a few harvests ago, defending the family's fiercely guarded brewing heritage against thieves like the Dark Iron dwarves, who stole the recipe for Thunderbrew Lager. Between restless patrons, missing supply lines, and rowdy tavern disputes, Ragnar keeps a steady hand on the taps, ensuring no traveler departs Kharanos with an empty mug or an empty belly.
