Farmer Saldean

Farmer Saldean remembers better days in Westfall. Those prosperous years have crumbled into dust. Surrounded by overgrown fields, rampaging mechanical harvest watchers, and predatory bandits, Saldean refuses to yield his land. While other homesteaders abandoned their acres or turned to thievery, he and his wife Salma remain determined to harvest what little grain they can. Driven to practical desperation, he recruits wandering adventurers to destroy the rogue Harvest Watchers that have taken over his fields and his neighbors' so he can clear his soil for planting.

Saldean's stubborn defense of his homestead makes him one of the few surviving anchors of civilian life between Sentinel Hill and the northern bridge. Despite his harsh circumstances, he maintains ties with the People's Militia, sending able-bodied travelers along to Gryan Stoutmantle once his own immediate troubles are settled. Saldean knows all too well that clearing out wild harvest reapers will only buy his farm temporary reprieve unless the broader lawlessness strangling the countryside is dealt with.
