The General's Response is an official military dispatch written by General Marcus Jonathan, commander of the Stormwind city guard. Intended for Magistrate Solomon in Lakeshire, the missive acknowledges Redridge's plea for aid while revealing that the capital cannot—or will not—immediately send royal reinforcements.
A Diplomatic Standoff
When Magistrate Solomon reaches out to Stormwind City desperately seeking troops to fend off the gathering Blackrock orc clans and Gnoll warbands in Redridge, he sends his plea straight to the high command. General Marcus Jonathan's written response delivers cold comfort: while the plea has been forwarded upward to the throne, no soldiers are currently dispatched. Caught between protocol and politics, the General orders the letter delivered back to Lakeshire, leaving Solomon troubled and suspicious that a deeper sickness paralyzes the capital's leadership.
