Telescopic Lens

Ratchet is known primarily as a port of ruthless commerce, but its chief engineer and overseer, Gazlowe, harbors grander mechanical ambitions. Prominently perched over the harbor, his observatory was built to house a powerful telescope to monitor maritime traffic and astronomical phenomena. While the larger lens arrived safely via an overland caravan from Durotar, the vital smaller lens was routed by sea—making it easy prey for the Southsea Freebooters who plague the merchant lanes off the Barrens coastline.

When the Freebooters raided the transport ship, they hauled off anything of value, packing the delicate optics into a crate marked 'Fragile - Do Not Drop.' Unable to appreciate the fine craftsmanship or simply unsure how to pawn it, the buccaneers left the lens stashed amidst the clutter of their beachside camp south of Ratchet. Gazlowe relies on daring adventurers to brave the cutthroats, secure the unblemished glass, and finally bring his observation deck into focus.
