Essence of Nightlash

At an abandoned farmstead in northern Silverpine known as the Dead Fields, packs of undead rot hide gnolls have entrenched themselves under Scourge command. Initial Forsaken assaults were repeatedly broken not by the feral gnolls, but by their spectral commander: the banshee Nightlash. Calling upon wailing magics, she reinforced the gnoll lines and routed the forces sent from the Sepulcher. Slaying her dissolves her incorporeal form into dust, leaving behind a crystalline, magical essence that represents her permanent dissolution.

Because banshees leave behind no corporeal corpse, the Essence of Nightlash is the only physical evidence that the malevolent spirit has been destroyed. High Executor Hadrec at the Sepulcher requires this essence to verify that the Scourge's local foothold has collapsed, allowing the Forsaken to finally secure their northern perimeter and suppress the rot hide threat.
