This is what you agree to when you send us recordings for a Lore Forever voice pack. It's short on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask on Discord before you send.

"We" means the Lore Forever project and the people who run it. "Your recordings" means the audio files you send us through the submission form or any other way, for a Lore Forever voice pack.

1. We can share your recordings

You let us include your recordings in Lore Forever voice packs and share those packs for free: on loreforeverwow.com, on GitHub, on CurseForge, and in later versions of the packs in those places. That includes a short sample of your pack on the Voices page so players can hear it before they download.

We don't have to publish everything you send. We may use some recordings and not others, for example when a file doesn't match the current text or has a sound problem. We'll tell you when that happens.

2. The license: CC BY-SA 4.0

The lore text you read is shared under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0). Your recordings are released under the same license. That means anyone, not only us, may copy, share and adapt them, including for commercial use, as long as they credit you and share their version under the same license. You keep the copyright in your recordings.

3. The edits we may make

To make your files work in the game, we may:

• trim silence and false starts at the beginning and end,
• adjust the loudness so every narration plays at a similar volume,
• split one file into several, or join several into one,
• convert the file format (for example to MP3) and rename files to match the clip list.

We won't change your words or make your recordings say anything you didn't say. If a narration needs more than that, we'll ask you for another take.

4. Your credit

We credit you with the credit line you choose (a name, a handle, or a link to your channel) in the voice picker, in the pack's credits file and on this site. If you'd rather stay anonymous, we won't use your name anywhere. Your signature below the form stays private either way.

5. It's your voice

You confirm that the voice in your recordings is your own, that you made the recordings yourself, and that nobody else has a claim on them that would stop you from giving these permissions. The recordings are just your voice: no music, sound effects or other people's material.

6. Age

You're 18 or older. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must read this release, agree to it, and sign it on the form for you.

7. It's volunteer work

You're lending your voice as a volunteer. Lore Forever is free, and there is no payment, fee or royalty for your recordings, now or later. You don't owe us anything either: you can stop recording at any time.

8. Changing your mind

You can ask us to take your pack down at any time, through Discord or the contact details you gave us. We'll remove it from this site and leave it out of every Lore Forever version released after that.

Copies already released stay out there. A CC BY-SA license can't be taken back, so anyone who already has your recordings may keep using and sharing them under that license, and older versions may still be available to download where they were published.

9. If this release changes

If we update this page, it gets a new version date. A new version only applies to recordings you send after agreeing to it; recordings you already sent stay under the version you agreed to.
