Lending your voice: the terms
Version 2026-10-04
This is what you agree to when you lend us your voice on the Lend your voice page. It's short on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask on Discord before you agree.
"We" means the Lore Forever project and the people who run it. "Your recording" means the recording of you reading our script that you send us from that page.
1. What we do with your recording
We use your recording as a reference voice for AI speech synthesis (also called voice cloning). A speech model running on our own computer listens to your recording and then generates new speech in a voice that sounds like yours. That is how we make the narration: the model reads Lore Forever's text in your voice, including lines you never recorded.
We don't use your recording to train an AI model, and we don't send it to an outside voice service.
2. Where your voice is used
Only in Lore Forever, a free, non-commercial fan-made add-on for World of Warcraft. The narration made in your voice is given to players free of charge: in voice packs on loreforeverwow.com, on GitHub and on CurseForge, and as short samples on this website so players can hear it before they download.
We never sell your voice or anything made with it, never use it in ads, and never use it for any other project or let anyone else use it.
3. What it will say
Only Lore Forever's narration: the lore, quest and dialogue text the add-on reads to players, and a line naming the voice. Nothing else: no ads, no messages, nothing that pretends to be you speaking for yourself.
4. Hearing it first
When your voice is ready, a test pack appears on your Lend your voice page so you can hear it in game. If you don't like how it sounds, withdraw it there (section 9).
5. Your credit
Players see "voice by" and the credit you choose (a name, a handle, or Anonymous) in the voice list and on this site. Your typed signature stays private.
6. It's your own voice
You confirm that the voice in your recording is your own and that you recorded it yourself, for this. It isn't game audio, a recording of anyone else, or a voice made by software, and nobody else has a claim on it that would stop you from agreeing to these terms.
7. Adults only
You're 18 or older.
8. It's volunteer work
There is no payment, fee or royalty for your recording or for the narration made with it, now or later.
9. Withdrawing
You can withdraw at any time with the Withdraw my voice button on your Lend your voice page, or by asking us on Discord. When you withdraw:
- we delete your recording and your test pack from our storage at once, and the copy on our own computer the next time our voice tooling runs;
- we stop making narration with your voice and leave it out of every voice pack we build from then on;
- we take your voice off our download pages.
What we can't do: recall copies players have already downloaded. Narration released before you withdrew stays on their computers, and older files we already published on GitHub or CurseForge stay there unless you ask us to remove them, which we will.
Deleting your Lore Forever account does the same as withdrawing.
10. What we keep
Your recording, your credit, your account's email address and name (from signing in with Google), your typed signature, and the version and date of the terms you agreed to. The recording is stored privately and used only to make your voice. After you withdraw, or delete your account, we keep only the record that you agreed and withdrew (the dates, the version, your signature and that you confirmed you're 18 or older), as proof of what you agreed to; never the recording or your credit. Once your account is deleted, that record isn't linked to it.
11. If these terms change
If we update this page, it gets a new version date. A new version only applies once you agree to it; what you already lent stays under the version you agreed to.
When you lend your voice, the page records your agreement, the version (2026-10-04) and the date. Lend your voice · Record lines yourself instead
