Uldaman was constructed by titan watchers as a subterranean redoubt and research facility. When early experiments in shaping living stone produced the misshapen troggs, the titans sealed their failed creations within the vault's stasis chambers and began anew, culminating in the stone-skinned earthen. Its deepest chambers came to hold vital archives, including the fabled Discs of Norgannon, guarded by the stonekeeper Archaedas and the giantess Ironaya. In time the stone-skinned earthen gave rise to the dwarven race, and their cradle lay buried and forgotten beneath the hills.
