Ruins of Zul'Mamwe
Tucked away in a mountainous pocket south of the Mosh'Ogg Ogre Mound, the Ruins of Zul'Mamwe serve as a heavily fortified stronghold for the Skullsplitter troll tribe. Enclosed by steep cliffs on almost all sides, the ancient stone platforms now teem with fierce jungle trolls under the rule of their ruthless chieftain, Ana'thek the Cruel.
Stronghold of the Skullsplitters
The Ruins of Zul'Mamwe represent one of the primary seats of power for the Skullsplitter tribe in central Stranglethorn Vale. Cradled within a natural mountain amphitheater, the site has only a single open approach from the north, making it an exceptional defensive redoubt. From atop its weathered ziggurats and stone terraces, Chief Ana'thek the Cruel directs his warriors and witch doctors, defending their territory fiercely against both intruding adventurers and rival jungle troll tribes.
Remnants of an Ancient Empire
Like many of the stone settlements dotting the jungle, Zul'Mamwe is a relic of the ancient Gurubashi Empire that once held undisputed dominion over the southern reaches of the continent. Although the grand empire splintered long ago into squabbling, hostile factions, modern Skullsplitters fiercely guard these ancestral stones, continuing age-old tribal rituals amid the overgrown masonry and broken monoliths.
