Great-father Winter
Great-father Winter is an elderly orc hired by the Smokywood Pastures merchant company to pose as the legendary holiday figure in Orgrimmar. Stationed near Grommash Hold in the Valley of Strength during the Feast of Winter Veil, he listens to children's wishes while visibly growing weary of commercial holiday cheer. In exchange for holiday gifts and seasonal tasks, he routinely asks passersby for gingerbread cookies and ice cold milk.
A Hired Myth
While ancient lore speaks of Greatfather Winter as a majestic, elemental spirit wandering the land bringing snow and seasonal renewal, the figure sitting in the Valley of Strength is rather more mundane. He is an orc performer on the payroll of Smokywood Pastures, hired specifically to drive commerce, promote company wares, and entertain the youth of the Horde. Critics grumble that this commercial mascot cheapens genuine seasonal traditions, but few can deny the festive buzz he brings to the city streets.
Shift Work in the Valley of Strength
Stationed right outside Grommash Hold beneath the boughs of decorated evergreens, this stand-in endures an exhausting shift of children clambering onto his lap to state their gift demands. Between corporate plug drops for Smokywood Pastures discounts and half-hearted holiday greetings, his endurance frequently wanes. He openly admits to keeping a bottle of festive spirits stashed in his pack to drown out the noise as soon as his shift finishes, relying heavily on visiting adventurers to deliver snacks to keep him going.
