Steelsnap's Rib
Steelsnap's Rib is a grim trophy taken from the carcass of the ferocious hyena Steelsnap in Thousand Needles. Brought back to Thunder Bluff, it serves as physical proof that a creature deemed outside the Earthmother's blessing has been put down.
A Hunt Outside the Blessing
Most tauren hunts are undertaken for sustenance, for honor, or to seek harmony with nature. Steelsnap, however, represents a different kind of quarry. Roaming the canyon floor of Thousand Needles south of Camp E'thok, this vicious alpha hyena terrorizes peaceful wildlife and rallies packs of lesser predators to senseless bloodshed. When the hunt master Melor Stonehoof on Hunter Rise marks Steelsnap for death, he demands a heavy bone—Steelsnap's rib—as undeniable confirmation that the tyrant has been slain and the canyon cleansed of its blight.
