Okra

While much of Westfall lies fallow under the threat of Defias outlaws and rogue harvest golem attacks, stubborn farmers like the Saldeans still manage to coax hearty vegetables out of the soil. Okra grows low and green in the tilled dirt around Saldean's Farm. Despite the harsh conditions of the countryside, the crop persists, providing local homesteaders with essential bulk and nourishment when outside trade and supplies from Stormwind run completely dry.

Okra is best known as the indispensable base for Salma Saldean's famous Westfall Stew. Combined with whatever meat can be hunted across the dusty plains—such as vulture flesh, goretusk snouts, and coastal murloc eyes—the sliced pods break down under heat to thicken thin broths into a filling, restorative meal. For the struggling settlers clinging to their homesteads, fresh pods of okra turn sparse, wild scavenging into a hot, hearty supper.
