Mossy Tumor
A mossy tumor is a foul, poisonous growth carved from the bark and flesh of corrupted timberlings on Teldrassil. Found primarily around Wellspring Lake, these growths serve as outward signs of an unnerving malevolence spreading through the newly grown World Tree.
A Symptom of Teldrassil's Malaise
The timberlings of Teldrassil were created to nurture and tend the boughs of the great tree, but many have turned hostile and diseased. These mossy tumors are physical manifestations of this inner sickness. Heavily laden with toxins, the growths sprout across the bodies of Mire Beasts, Tramplers, and Elder Timberlings that prowl Wellspring Lake. Rellian Greenspyre and the keepers in Darnassus have tasked travelers with severing the tumors so they may be thoroughly burned, preventing their poison from taking deeper root in the island's soil.
