MacGrann's Dried Meats

Life in the freezing crags of Dun Morogh demands careful planning. To prepare for the blizzards of the cold season, the dwarf hunter Tundra MacGrann spent weeks hunting game, salting the meat, and securing it inside a sturdy chest. Aware that scavenging bears and prowling predators routinely plague his homestead, MacGrann took no chances and locked his food supply away inside a thorium meat locker. Even with those precautions, he did not anticipate an intruder strong enough to carry away the entire chest rather than trying to pry it open on the spot.

While MacGrann was away tracking deer, the notorious yeti Old Icebeard raided the hunter's camp and dragged the heavy chest back to his den in Chill Breeze Valley. Though the beast lacked the means to break through the solid thorium plating, MacGrann's injured leg left him unable to mount a swift rescue into the cavern. Without outside assistance to retrieve the cache before winter sets in, the stranded hunter faced starvation amidst the mountain snows.
