Horn of Arra'chea

The Horn of Arra'chea is a hunting trophy taken from the legendary kodo Arra'chea, who wanders the plains of Mulgore. Claimed at the behest of High Chieftain Cairne Bloodhoof, the horn serves as definitive proof that an aspiring hunter has the discipline and tracking prowess to provide for the Shu'halo.

A Chieftain's Test

Though passing the initial Rites of the Earthmother grants a youth their rightful place atop Thunder Bluff, High Chieftain Cairne Bloodhoof expects his people to continually prove their worth. For the tauren, identity is bound directly to the hunt and their enduring harmony with the land. Cairne tests young hunters by tasking them with tracking down Arra'chea, a massive, lone kodo bull roaming the grasslands below. Taking Arra'chea's horn proves mastery over the fundamental art of tracking prey across vast distances.

Providing for the Tribe

Bringing the horn to the high rise of Thunder Bluff is more than a display of martial strength; it serves the survival of the entire community. In tauren culture, nothing of a slain beast is allowed to go to waste. Presenting the trophy alerts the High Chieftain to the fallen beast's location, allowing gathering parties to quickly depart down into the plains to harvest Arra'chea's thick hide and rich meat for the fledgling capital.
