The Strange Hermit is an introductory quest in Shadowgale Forest focusing on a shy, hooded recluse living away from civilization. Seeking conversation after long isolation, the hermit shares glimpses of his simple handcrafted life and his bond with the local singing forest spirits.

Uh, um... H-hello, I mean to say, hi! Greetings, even! I'm sorry... It's um, been so long since I've actually spoken to another person. I'm afraid I'm a bit rusty at this.
So er, um... How is your day going?

that's about all I have to say about it. I was--um--somewhere else before I was here. Now I'm here and I have my friends, and my things. T-things I built, I mean. That's about all I need. I think that's all I need, anyway.ay.
I have to say though, it is nice to talk to someone who will talk back. The forest spirits try, but they just end up singing at me. That's nice in its own way, but not exactly s-stimulating conversation.
